It was actually a nice catalog, my roomate had pulled the mail and left it on the counter while I wasn't home. The only problem was that his 10 year old got ahold of it and used a permanent marker on it to mark what he liked and wanted. There are no guns featured in the catalog and I didn't ask the kid what he liked the catalog so I have no clue why he made the choices he did. It was nice to see such a large and readily able to read catalog of items I'm usually curious to know the price of.
I do have to wonder though if it has something to do with me finally becomming an NRA member, just got the annual while getting my NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Certification, for $25. Not being able to pay cash for one was the only thing holding me back and I planned to get one in January at the Orlando SHOT SHOW.
Does anyone else get these catalogs, and who tends to have better deals in your laymen's opinion. I'm thinking a visit to Cabela's website to sign up for their catalog mailing list might be a good idea.
Was glad to see they had Tumblers, decent deals on Lee Precision reloaders and lead melters. Was a little disappointed that my local Walmart beat out their Winchester White Box ammo prices. The idea of +P brass had completely escaped my knowledge, I'm guess that's brass used to intentionally load for +P performance.
When my official paperwork and certification comes in I'll have to get a P.O. box so my roomates weekend visitor doesn't make off with any ammo I might order in the future. He one time recently 'hid' an AK mag I had got for twelve bucks through the mail and spun a lie about 'hiding' it. No I haven't ordered ammo before through the mail and certainly won't till I get a P.O. Box.
