Got to the show early and scored!

I was at the same show this afternoon and came up empty. I went looking for a Savage 1907 and the only one I saw was in awful condition. I considered making an offer on an H&R 32 auto but it was in so so shape and had AM grips.

Ya, I saw those too and I would have passed as well. That guy sure had a bunch of shiny S&W revolvers didn't he.....at top shelf prices!
Overall, there was a decent selection of old stuff though, I thought.

Was a little dirty when I found it, but it cleaned up pretty nice, I think.

The bore and lockup are perfect. Judging by the worn-smooth grips, probably carried a lot and shot seldom.

At $450 OTD, I think I did pretty good.:)
Very nice. I'm quite fond of the pps and op. And 3" is not one you find often. Excellent buy.

Good score! The rest of the gun doesn’t seem to show as much wear as the grips, at least in your pictures. I wonder if the original grips were removed, and replaced with more worn ones?

Regardless, good luck with your new gun!

Could be, though Ive observed this with other old Colts. The checkering isnt very deep from the factory, and I suspect their blueing was harder than the walnut they used.
It does have some bare metal peeking through on the high-spots, typical of extended leather holster carry. Of course the grips would be exposed and subject to more handling wear.
My '67 Trooper (which I was told was a LEO trade-in) had smooth-worn grips too, and the metal finishing was near flawless....
The good news is since this isnt a high-grade collectible example, Im not averse to actually carrying it myself.:)
