He is building the World Shooting Complex down in Sparta isnt he? IMO this is just another way to divide gunowners into the duckhunters and the people that buy the evil black rifles. The Single Action Shooting Society is going to be holding an event there in July of 2005. Does the SAS know that the state of Illinois does not allow people from out of state to buy handgun ammo there? Does the SAS know about the Daley gun bans and how Gov Rod is anti-gun? Any members of this assoc on this forum need to know that there own club has signed on to have one of their events held in a state that is HELLBENT on banning private gunownership.

The same is also true for the Amateur Trapshooting Assoc., they are holding an event at the WSC in 2006. Are they aware of how gununfriendly Illinois' Governor is???

If anyone on the forum is a member of either one of these clubs or a concerned gunowner like me perhaps its time that we let Gov. Rod Blago know that if himself and his cronies in the city of Chicago are going to constantly assault our Rights to Keep and Bear Arms, that we will not patronize the WSC facility.

I see no reason why everyone who shoots cannot get involved and contact the Govs. office and let him know how we feel.

You can call gov. Rod at (217)782-0244 or (888)261-3336

Alot of us here in Illinois could use your help. Thanks SoK

Oh without knowing it I posted my 100th post congrats to myself.

SaintofKillers,
Congrats on 100 posts :D.

A couple of corrections, there is nothing in Illinois law prohibiting nonresidents from purchasing handgun ammunition. I just spent about half an hour looking through the laws after I first saw your post.

The World Class Shooting Complex in Sparta is not Blagojevich's project. It has been in the works for a few years now. It's probably getting support from our antigun governor because he has to do something for the economy down here. Most of his other policies are driving businesses from Southern Illinois.

I don't see it as an attempt to divide gunowners. We're plenty divided without Rod's help thank you. ;) I think any gun related business we can bring into the state is good for our RKBA. I have never shot trap and I may be the worlds worst wingshot, but I'm very excited about this project. Let's get it bult then try to get a big three gun match into it, maybe even covered on ESPN. I see it as a way to get evil black guns into the public light in a positive way.

Let's fight on the same side. The World Class Shooting Complex is a good thing. If we get a big three gun competition into it we may be able to generate a lot of good press, plus we can say that attempts to ban evi black guns will adversly affect the economy of a very depressed region of the state.

Agree with Jeff. Most of the SASS members I know are fervently pro-gun. a 3-gun event is just what Illinois needs. We should be encouraging gun clubs to book events in Sparta...just to chap Gov Blow-dryer-vich's @$$!!

Jeff is correct on the ammo purchase. Only we Illinois residents need the $^% FOID card. A non-res with an ID (drivers lic) may purchase ammo here with no problem.
Could someone 'splain that FOID card logic to me again? I still don't get it.
I think anything that casts shooting in a good light should be encouraged.
