Trijicon makes a front sight replacement for the SP101, can this front sight be used on the front of a Ruger GP100 three inch. The three inch has the fixed gutter type sight in the back?

Oh and if this is feasible is it as simple as knocking out what looks to be a very small roll pin just under the front sight?

Cslinger,

I am looking for the answer to this same question.

Did you ever find out if the sight can be used for both the SP101 and GP100?

Thanks,

WJR

None on my end at this point. Once again I just haven't been hunting the answer down. But If anybody else knows, inquiring minds and all that.

I sent a S&W 681 to Tooltech to have them install a Trijicon white outline night sight. They are the company that does all of Trijicon's installs. I don't know their number off hand but if you call Trijicon I'm sure that they can help you. I have a 3" GP that I'm thinking of sending, providing they have a nightsight to fit. I'm guessing that they do, and it makes a world of difference.

I used a front sight blad made for a S&W (pinned in type) but it took a lot of patience as the groove in the top of the barrel is significantly narrower than a S&W. file a little bit, ck with micrometer, over and over. A little more on one side or the other and it wouldn't be centered. I used a .208" tall S&W factory blade and it hits dead on at 15 yards with 125gr 357 mag gold dot.

I am e-mailing myself at work so I can call tomorrow.

Just picked up a 3" GP-100 last week, so this is timely for me.

I called Trijicon and according to their customer service rep, the SP101 sight that they sell is not compatible with the GP-100 with a fixed sight.

They gave me the number for ToolTech. For the price of $ 87.50 plus shipping, Tooltech will install a white outline trijicon lamp into the existing sight. Their website is www.tooltechgunsight.com.

I am probably going to go this route. I eventually am going to get an SP101 as well and have a trijicon sight installed, so both will have a similar setup.

Does anyone have any suggestions for wood grips for the 3" GP-100? I have looked and searched some, but do not find as many options as I would have hoped.

I wonder if the Speed Six sight is the same.

Probably the same part, and I know that Ashley (XSsights) used to make a tritium front sight for the Speed Six.
Worth a try.

Please keep us posted. I have had XS sights before and those would be just fine to me if they work.

I have their sights on my Makarov...

...it's very, very nice. I had to get a dovetail cut for the front, but it was well worth it. My Mak is now extremely practical as a fighting handgun, albeit a little aneimic.
Their Big Dot front sight is very bright and easy to see in the dark and light conditions. I'm really looking forward to having this on my revolver.

Got the frot sight yesterday!

I mounted it and I'm currently waiting for the Loc-Tite to set up before I clean it up and get some pictures.
It looks very good, and installation was under 15 minutes with my dog bugging me the whole time. (He thought he was helping, can't blame him.)
Steve

Please post pics when you get a chance. I am anxious to see how it looks.

I will be ordering shortly after that.

Pictures????

As you can see I am anxious to see pics and order sights for myself.

Another 3"GP100 owner waiting to see how the ToolTech or XS sights work. I've put orange paint on my 3"er to get higher visability with sight with so/so results. Thanks, Mike

I'll get pics up right away, but...

I have a little going on right now. (wife had a baby girl three days ago.)

I have a son, eight years old, but...

...this is my wife's first, and therefore my first by proxy.
I was out to sea when my son was born, so this is all new to me either way. Thanks again, guys!
Steve

I have three, they certainly keep you busy.

Look forward to the pics, but understand that you have some other important things happening in your life.

Take care,

WJR

Here you go!

The small white marks are actually sheetrock dust. I didn't notice it until after I took the shots.
(Plus the gratuitous Hank shot.)

That looks great.

How does the big dot line up with the notch for the rear sight.
