Great Ammo Deal

The Sportsman's Guide catolg listed FMJ .223 ammo (M855 G.I.) from Federal for only $999.97 a 1000 or $1.00 a round. Did I miss something? I have seen .223 going for a little over $400 a 1000, but this seems a little steep. They say it is a real deal, but I think I will have to let it pass. Am I being too tight fisted with my money? Anyboby else going to jump on this deal?

Hopefully, this is the rock that the wave breaks against. Ammo pricing is getting so absurd that even the newbies and tinfoil hats can't be paying $1K for a thousand rounds of .223 ball ammo.

Someone mentioned to me the other day, that Federal had signed a contract with the military to deliver 1.6 Billion rounds of ammo.

Unconfirmed- I haven't looked into it. But that may be a good deal.

That is crazy. Around $400/1000 is still the going rate. Don't know who would pay $1 a round for .223.
