Great inexpensive custom ear protection!

I bought what seems to be the identical product from my local Wal-Mart for $11. These were made by Clear Water Concepts LLC of Purdy, MO. No website listed.

I just formed them tonight so only have first impressions. Easy enough to do. I can already tell that while they work I'll want muffs over them for extended shooting or big stuff.

However, they seem very comfortable. Main reason I bought them was hoping for improved comfort on flights and times I need to wear them for a long time.

I'll post more info if I find any issues with them.

Alright, my experience with the Wal-Mart bought version was a bust.

I really liked the idea but it didn't work, couldn't get a seal. Could have been my fault since I may not have pushed the goo far enough into my ear. However, after a friend had an ear drum ruptured by a plug I'm a bit leary to push stuff too far in there (besides, my Mother told me not to!)

For me it was a bust and I've given up on this idea. I might pay a pro to do it, but I'm just not confident in me doing it.

Will have to find something else comfortable that works.

I also tried the Wal-Mart version, but was very disappointed. I followed the directions exactly, except that instead of letting them cure in the ear for 9 minutes I left them in for 30. I shoved the material deep, and smoothed over the outside.

After removal they would not seal properly when reinserted. I tried my "clap" test, which consists of clapping my hands and listening to the sound. I found very little reduction, whereas muffs, silicone baffle plugs, and foam plugs do much better. I took the kit back for a refund, so al I was out was time.
