Like a good little boy I did a search on wood grips. Pages of results. So now the lazy way. I have Badger Boot grips on a Ruger Speed-six. Excellent! Except I like an oil finish. I seem to recall reading that cocobolo has enough natural oil that they don't need a finish and actually absorb hand oil over the years. Badger has a Rosewood boot grip I'd like on SWMBO's SP-101. Excellent speed of service from Jim Badger, BTW!

Who else makes a similar grip? Any feedback? Available unfinished?

Stay safe.
Bob

Ahrends will send you unfinished grips. I bought two sets of K/L round w/fingergrooves (unfinished) from them recently, they turned out great! Gorgeous grain too, IMO.

About a year ago I bought some Cocobolo wood and made a set of grips for my Ruger Mark1 and single six. Will say that wood is very hard and when sanding is very oily. But didn't leave them natural I used Tung oil to finish but still came out very nice:)

Rosewood isn't finished either-just sanded-because it's naturally oily, which made it the wood of choice for carpentry handles (screw drivers, planes, etc) for centuries.

Bob, Eagle Grips offers their rosewood grips with no finish. They have many different styles, including boot grips, which they call "secret service" grips.
