I ordered this from Blade HQ the other day and it just got here!

Love the Griptilians - had one before and gave it away and regretted it ever since. So I got this one with Sand handles and a 154CM plain blade coated black. Sweet! Axis lock works good but a bit stiff, I'm sure it'll loosen up.

great knives. i have one clipped to all three of my packs. exellent blades and the axis lock is genius

I like that a lot. I carry a 154CM Mini-Griptillian, but mine has OD green scales with a half serrated blade (the Mel Pardue one). I really think I need one like yours. The knife will loosen up a bit with use. Get a bit driver with a set of small Torx bits, if you don't already own something like that, and you can disassemble it completely to clean it when need be.

This one is a Pardue design also. I don't know if I like the thumbstud over the hole for opening but I sure like using the AXIS lock to fling it open!

I mounted the new Grip in the Wicked Edge sharpener - it was OK sharp but not great.

I started at 800 grit and did 30 strokes, then the same at 1000, 1200 and 1600 grits. Then I stropped with a balsa strop with 5 and 3.5 micron diamond paste. Done!

Yeah, I never even touch the thumb stud to be honest. One hand opening and closing is so much easier with the Axis.

Griptilians are some of the best EDC's out today, I used to collect them but have thinned the herd down to a few favorites, mostly the Doug Ritter versions, which one of, is my EDC.

I'm with you on the thumbhole over the thumbstud. Great color choice though. Grips are awesome. How's the edge now that you polished it up a bit?

I found 25 degrees per side to match the original edge.

Seems like that's what my Mini was. I reground mine to 20 degrees. Speaking of which, it needs to be sharpened again.

I learned a valuable lesson when I let a gun-show sharpener "touch-up" the serrations on my Griptilian. I bought a round sharpener (not from him) and it took me a long time to undo the damage he had done.

I've extended an offer (still open) to sharpen knives for anyone on THR for the price of shipping, and the folks that have taken advantage of it have been very happy when they get the knife back. Hey I spent $500 on this Wicked Edge - I want to sharpen knives! :)

On each side. I figured that was enough to remove the previous scratches, and it's pretty shiny now.

I'd do 10 or 15 on one side then the same on the other and repeat.
