And, in the same lot from Rock Island as a NIB '48 Baby Dragoon, was a Uberti Griswold & Gunnison made in 1971. Unfired, { edit: shows evidence of being dry fired } in near perfect condition.

Ive come to the conclusion that Mr.FingersMcgee is addicted to black powder revolvers (arent all of us on this part of the forum?), and to have such an amazing collection he is either rich or in debt up to his eyeballs. Im leaning towards rich. Thanks for posting...love your collection!

It's an affliction I happily embrace; thankful that I can.

Didnt he just carry a brass framed 1860 in the early seasons that they kept calling a Griswold and then a Remington in the later seasons? Geez i love that show and have seen the seasons so many times...im ashamed that i dont remember if a griswold was actually used in the first season. I remember other characters in the show talked about the griswold as if it was some awesome magnum gun of some kind and the only close to accurate statement was when cullens with president Grant "snipe" hunting and Cullen said that a few years back he would have given anything to be this close to him with a griswold in his hand and grant says "that piece of junk?" And i think said it was unreliable but cullen says it always worked for him.

Those CSA revolvers used to be referred to as Griswold and Grier. Mr Grier was the company lawyer and no doubt his name is on a lot of their paperwork and got associated with the firm
But I just cannot get my friends the Griers to do their genealogy to look for a connection. Mr Grier is from Eufaula AL, is only 143 rail miles from Macon, another 10 to Griswoldville.

The first episode used a replica G&G .36 (maybe Pietta but Uberti also produced a few in 1971). Further episodes used a brass frame 1860 Army .44. The set armorers figured no one would notice the difference (hey, a brasser is a brasser, eh?). If one wants to look it up, be my guest.
