I went up on a little trip to the mountians above my house. I went to a spot where I was able to limit out last year, I didn't find a single bird. I usually can find a few at this spot. I did not venture too far from the truck. The knee is still a little unstable. Still it was good to get out. The dogs had a great time.

I had my pocket camera with me so here are a couple of pics. You folks from the south and the wide open prairies might like these.

This first one shows a little bit of the rugged terrain I was in.

I wish I could say, "Copper on point, Cowboy backs." Nope, I just snapped this as they ran accross the hill.

The little green circle is the sub-division my house is in. That is part of the Great Salt Lake in the background. My house sits at an elevation of about 4000 feet. The spot I hunted is 9500 in elevation.

lucky YOu

It looks like it was worth the efforts. At least you got to go out and enjoy the view... maybe you'll get something nextimer you get out...good luck

My son and I were out hunting ruffed grouse Saturday evening.
He found one, flushed it and missed behind it.
I didn't see any.
It was the first one of the season. The first trip on Thursday morning we saw none.

What kind of grouse were you after?

I hunted mule deer in southern Utah many years ago and saw no grouse of any type. Bounced some big jackrabbits.
