I bought a GSG 522 a few years back and have out a few thousand rounds in it. It is a fun gun to shoot. It has been very relaible and seems to accept any brands of 22LR. My ONLY problem that I have had is that it never seems to feed the last bullet on 2 of my OEM magazines. Otherwise its a good gun to keep for the young ones to use. I would as far as saying that it might be even be a good HD gun...nobody would want get hit withto 20 rounds of 22LR in thier chest. And yes, you can fire that fast in such a short time with small groupings.

I hear nothing but good things about them. I went with the Walther/Umarex/Hk. It runs like a sewing machine in Kathie Lee Gifford's sweat shop. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I have put many bricks through mine with no issues. I would not say I expect it to last say 50 years, but it will go at least another 20 at the rate I play with it. The gun is made to be shot a lot and we (a buddy has two of them) shoot them a lot a metal pop up targets. We can easily burn 2 bricks a piece in 45 minutes since we both have at least 10 mags per gun.

I have an original one and it works great. Doesn't like to run when it gets really dirty but with decent ammo it goes without a problem.

I should follow up about the comment above. It does not like to get super dirty but can easily do 1000 rounds of cheap bulk ammo before a cleaning.

My one complaint is the gun is screwed together with conventional screws and not pinned. It shows the difference between say a real made to last forever like a ruger Mk1 where everything is pinned or fits together and a screwed together gun.

Get a schematic and study it a bit and you will see what I mean.

But at the end of the day, who cares. The gun is fun, reliable and easy to shoot well.

On the other hand, Peter, screws can always be tightened or turned into pins with Loctite. I'd rather something be screwed together. It means it's easier to service. As long as it doesn't sheer, it's for the better.

I would agree with you if the screws were more professional or higher quality. They look just like screws I could get at lowes. Actually lets get a bit more accurate, they are phillips head bolts I believe.

You can't loctite it because you have to take apart those screws to clean the gun.
