I missed some of last fall's trap and skeet competition as well as deer season due to a multitude of things, mainly my wife's ankle replacement and my being full time caregiver for two months as that was the length of no weight bearing restrictions for her.
Then, in November I developed atrial fibrillation and had to have an ablation. That, for no good reason, was harder than the previous year's stent, aortic valve replacement and pacemaker marathon.
Now, after looking at my scores for the two past trap league seasons, I checked with my eye doctor. Duh, cataract on master eye. Had it removed last Wed. Improving daily.
However, wife needs major surgery on her other foot and ankle. Scheduled for 3/31. My other eye is 3/21. Then, after her foot is well enough to be ambulatory, I get my left knee replaced.
What was going to be "my" good eyes shooting season is now delayed til about August.
All that said, James from the book of James says, "Count it joy, bretheren, when you encounter various trials because.....".
I'm not complaining at all. I've had, for the most part, excluding polio, spinal fusion, and a few other things, 78 good years plus sixty with the love of my life. I'm trying to keep old man depression locked out.
Heck, the social security life estimator gives me another 8.1 years. Might have time to use up those 209s, cans of Red Dot, and bags of shot I've been buying.
I also set up a pellet gun range in the shop and am ordering a Terry Jordan trap shooting wall chart.
Biggest complaint is I won't get to coach our high school team this year and two of my granddaughters are on it.
