Hello all...
I'd just like some advice on a next gun to buy. My truck was totalled at the end of June (rear-ended while on my way to the gun shop to pick up a rifle I had purchased from a THR member in another state), and now I have some insurance settlement money to spend. I've used the vast majority of it to start a retirement account so some day I might be able to stop working, and I'm looking to buy a used motorcycle as well. But I've got about $500 to play with.
The three guns that I'm tossed up between are a GSG-5, a good-quality .357 revolver, or an AK clone. I don't shoot very much (a couple times a year), and really just go to have fun and stay reasonably proficient. I've hunted some, and feel comfortable and relatively competent with everything I've already got.
What I've already got is a Ruger Mk III 22/45, two Ruger 10/22s, a Marlin 925M (.22Mag), a Marlin 336, a Mossberg 100 ATR, an H&R single-shot 20 gauge, and a S&W Sigma .40 pistol.
I'm leaning towards the GSG-5 because of the fun/cost of ammo ratio. I'm not especially interested in spending a couple hundred for a case of 7.62 ammo that just sits in the closet for 363 days a year, when I could spend a fraction of that for .22LR. But a nice revolver seems like a great and classic thing to have.
THoughts?
Thanks,
Josh
