Two cleaning questions for my Ruger Mk III.
I had this spray cleaner suggested to me to clean the inside of the ejection/loading port area out with.

1)Any other suggestion ? I was looking for something cheaper but its hard to find something that dries not sticky ???
2)Also what do you like to use to wipe down the outside with when your done cleaning ?

You may want to take a look at M-Pro 7 for a cleaner, and/or Tetra Gun for a cleaner and lubricant. I like both. Break Free CLP is an old reliable also. Tetra Gun is a dry lube, CLP is wet. Depends on your preference.

Non-chlorinated aerosol brake parts cleaner. Blast the crud out and then give it a light spritz of Rem Oil. ;)

If you don't mind the smell, you can use Ballistol for both uses. It is a Clean Lubricate Protect (CLP) product.

Here it is at Brownell's. http://www.brownells.com/gun-cleani...rotectant-oils/sportsman-s-oil-prod22502.aspx

I find it at my local gun store, but you can find it at many hardware stores. It is very popular with the black powder shooters, so if you're having problems finding it locally, and know some guys that shoot black power guns, you can ask them.

You can watch Hickok45 clean his Glock and/or 1911 with the stuff if you have questions.

I'm sure if you search enough you could find him cleaning a Ruger MKIII.

I've been using G96 for years. It works, and has the best aroma. I don't know who chose the esters, but they deserved a big bonus. I flood the gun, then let it drain over night. It's worked for me for over thirty years.

Everybody has their opinions on gun juice; this stuff works better than anything else I've used. Cabella's carries it in their stores.

I discovered, by accident, the red ATF - Automatic Transmission Fluid.

Many years ago I was out of gun cleaner and it was all I had lying around. I'm still using it.

With a nylon brush, it removes the soot buildup from revolver cylinders very well.

Wiping after with a dry cloth removes the oil and leaves no residue.

Keep any oil away from the firing pin channel.

Though I don't think either are available as an aerosol, which I think is what the OP is looking for.

True, the FP-10 doesn't come in an aerosol spray can, but it works great out of a small spray pump bottle, or even a recycled Afrin pump mist bottle; I carry it this way in my range bag

I just use "Gunscrubber" or right now "Remington Shotgun Cleaner". I forget how much it costs, but it isn't expensive enought to worry about it.

For external wipedown, I use silicon spray. You can find it in most automotive supply places, Wal-Mart, etc. No particular brand.

M-Pro 7 really is good stuff, even manages to get rid of some copper.

Hoppes Elite is practically the same stuff if you can't find the mpro7.

Excellent !
Now I have several different things to choose from.
Thanks for all the help.

Brake parts cleaner from WalMart or O'Reily etc. Get the cheapest, or house brand. Its a potent solvent, "quantity has a quality of its very own" is certainly true if "flushing" things out.

It dries dry and in need of lube afterwards.
