Wait till the Taurus 9mm snub revolvers come out and try one of those. Should conceal well, but may still seem "fat" to you based on how you plan on carrying it.

Rogelio,

Thanks for the info. Remind me not to move down to your country :(

Why on earth would it be okay to shoot someone with a .380 but not okay to shoot them with a 9mm? Sounds like some pretty stupid laws.

Well, given your options, the .38 specail sounds like its about as good as you're going to get. But whatever you end up with, I hope you never really need to use it...

Thanks for all the response. I pretty much have decided on a S&W hammerless .38 +P and probably a Beretta .32 as well... i'll ditch the Beretta .22.

Check out the Taurus line of revolvers. You can get the CIA (carry it anywhere) in .38 or .357. It is a concealed hammer, DAO revolver. It just might be a better gun at a better price than a current production S&W.

I remember reading a study done several years ago on real shooting. These were shooting with one shot stops. The 32 did much better then the 380 and rated just under the 38 special. I believe the problem with with the 380 was lack of penetration. I wouldn't knock a 22 round I've seen what they can do after they enter a skull or body cavity. I had a little 22 short back-up gun that I test fired into 2x4s. It went through 3 and stuck in the 4th. No not a lot of shock but 1 in the forehead game over.
