what follows is built upon our experiences gained, having lived well over a decade under gun-grabber rule.

I've seen a lot of anxiety over who might take the White House, and what anti-gun consequences that might entail. Well, I'll definitely be helping get out the vote this year - and we're working on quite a few projects to get more people to realize that their right to defend themselves is at stake.

But we are also pragmatists, in that we believe that one has to work hard for the best, but also prepare for the worst. We have been subject to some of the most unconstituational thefts of our rights through political manuevering, and yet we endure.

so, then, what should one buy today in the event of another 1994 AWB? by order of priority:

1. Receivers, receivers, receivers. These are cheap and are legally guns. 3 AR receivers, 3 AK receivers, 3 FAL receivers. Each are $100-150, $45-75, $300-600 respectively. All are easy to build up and there is a plentiful stream of parts and parts kits available for them that are still and will continue to be quite affordable. These will be BANNED in another AWB.

2. Parts kits. Again, buy cheap and stack em deep. AK Yugo/Romy G, FAL Imbel, Used AR uppers. Dont forget flash hiders and 922R parts where applicable. Import will be BANNED in another AWB environment (normal barrels already are)

3. Magazines. Don't buy cheap crap here - Promags and USA being two rather glaring examples. I bought a pile of cheap USA mags right before the bang. 95% of them turned out to be useless. Buy good quality magazines that are built well. Ruger Mini14 factory, AR 20 round USGI, Yugo/Romy AK, IMBEL/STG Magazines for the FAL, USGI or Taiwanese M14 USGI Magazines. Don't buy their wierd 3000 round Beta-Zeta-Alphas... 30s, 20s, 15s (35 if Galil).

5. Ammunition. AP, Incendiary. Steel Core. 5.7FN AP (for a rifle, of course). Green Tip Penetrators.

6. Body armor. Expect Level III and above armor, perhaps even Level II, to be banned in the interest of Police safety.

For $5000, you can readily have one of the most capable and sustainable collections of arms that will - with reasonable care - last you well past your lifetime.

And what if you already have the MBRs, ARs, AKs, etc covered? Well, then - get a good safe. Get a house alarm. And make sure you get everyone you know to vote.

I'm thinking that the next ban is going to incorporate things that they learned from the previous one...

So, here's what I'm expecting:

No cosmetic stuff - If it is semi-auto, and can possibly take a magazine 10 rounds, it's now law enforcement only.

No grandfathering - You get a chance to turn 'em in - after that, if you get caught, they spring a violent criminal from jail, and throw you in.

I suppose that this is all the more reason to follow the democratic party's strategy, and vote for anyone but a republican. Personally, I'm voting against Hillary, Obama or Edwards...

AGAINST. I may be holding my nose, but at least we'll have a chance. I'd like a non-lunatic libertarian, but we can't field anyone who doesn't come across as a nutjob...

- well said... "Move over rapists and murderers, a guy who wanted to defend his wife and kids is coming in..." :(

5.7FN AP (for a rifle, of course)

i wouldnt count on getting that in AP... the stuff averages about $6-9 a round... plus that round is fairly rare

As always, the best strategy is to work to defeat these bills before they go anywhere. However, that's not a good excuse to buy lots of new toys, so it tends to look less shiny.

And yes, I know that every single person who has 20 stripped lowers in his basement has already donated countless hours to the RKBA group of their choice, has given extra money to that organization, offered to sit down with the elected representatives and discuss this issue, written well though out opinion pieces for the local paper, and taken an entire Scout troop shooting. Buying all this stuff doesn't preclude doing all these other things.

Besides, as Bogie said, there's no guarantee of a grandfather clause. All of it could become worthless at the stroke of a pen. But, the dealers love this kind of stuff.

You can only use one "tool" at a time. I don't get these senarios of hording all these gun or gun parts. A bit like the survivalist camper who has a 100lbs of gear so he can survive in the wild.

If they are outright outlawed, they will be valuable at your trial as States Evidence.

Their only value then will be on the black market.

You forgot:

PVC pipe, caps and epoxy or other similiar type containers.
Grease, Oil, and wax paper.
Silica packs or other dessicants
Shovel and/or other tools
Land or space to store said PVC pipes.

yes, because i have $5000 dollers just laying around

i would rather spend the money i do have helping to fight such laws before they come about. at least that way, when i do have $5000 laying around i can use it to buy what i want, when i want.
besides, this kind of panic reaction is just what the anti's want to see. your giving up before the battle has even been fought....

admitatly if that { many explotives deleted } crazy women gets into office i might be tempted to panic..... :uhoh:

Everyone is someone else's whack-job.

Indeed.

Interesting thread. Put a couple of good books in the stockpile too; you never know how long you'll be holed up. ;-)

Tell me again what good a buried gun does? Are you going to dig it up when the bad gun laws suddenly disappear? Or dig it up when a group of gun owners who can't even collectively figure out if the NRA or GOA is right somehow, through what could only be a complete and total miracle, coordinate an uprising? Or do you just leave them there, smugly satisfied in the knowledge you pulled one over on the man, yet you still are effectively disarmed?

Jorg makes sense. Cosmoline is a pain to apply and worse so to remove, and something six feet under ground is worthless in an immediate emergency.

Better to use CLP and stock up on the intestinal fortitude. If the Dems get their way, we're going to need it.

Preparedness?

We'll just have to wait and see what happens, money like always is the
only thing holding me back.

How long do you think it would take for the Dems to pass more B.S. gun laws should they control the "football".

Headache:banghead:

you know a flood is comming to the desert one day too why not but 18 life jackets and 22 rafts just incase? The sun will eventually explode too so be sure to buy a tractor trailer full fo spf 2000000 sun tan lotion?

couldnt agree more with that
If they are banned, they will become more valuable than gold
if they are banned you wont be able to own them DUH!

As long as pvc pipe grill ignitors and starting fluid and potatos are available we will have guns DAMN IT

Not Politics

You guys aren't going to turn this into another politics thread, are you?

You're not gonna make me start deleting posts?

Again?

Please?

That's right, I forgot that people stopped making, selling, and using booze during prohibition.
DUH!
I might add that this was an illegal activity then DUH!x2 to you
granted I would be on the other side of the law in those days but that is a diffrent time and place
Hust because you can do it does not make you right. Also most of the time in the day of that you just went to jain for a while now you would likely loose your property and that is not worth it to me as a lone individual
