I just wanted to find out what folks use on their guns. First I will apologize for whichever favorites I left off. If there were more than twelve options I would have added "other". I did it as a poll so the people who were adamant wouldn’t drown out the merely satisfied. I would also like to know of any lubrication failures. I suspect that most oils are at least adequate until they dry up. I would like to hear of any particular product that was not even adequate.
Thanks, griz

Use what machinists use: LPS3 for preservative oil; Rig for gun grease; and, WD40 as a solvent in addition to Hoppes or Barnes juices.

"OTHER" X

I use Industrial PCL. It is a semi synthetic made by the Breakfree company. Works great. Imposible to find retail though, I had to order my last bottle from Breakfree.
I am going to try Remington Dri Lube in my .22 Magazines next time I shoot it.

FP-10, all the way! Used to be a CLP man but since using FP-10, there is no comparison.

Folks really use WD-40 on guns? Does that work? Guess it's better than dry.

Break Free CLP all the way!!! Sure stinks and I heard it causes cancer, but it keeps my guns running flawlessly in below zero weather.

What is FP-10?

Thank you Goldenloki, but I could have found that easily enough myself with a simple Google search. :D

What I'm really interested in is people telling me why FP-10 is better than Break Free CLP in their experience. :)

BreakFree for cleaning, sometimes use Hoppes solvent too.

Ballistol, Rem Oil, or CorrosionX for wherever I want a little extra lubrication or protection.

FP-10

I'm a little surprised FP-10 isn't getting more votes. Maybe George needs to do a rerun of his sampler giveaway. It's great stuff. That said, I'm still using up the Breakfree I have on the shelf for coating firearms before they go into storage and I still use Tetra grease on my Garands, but for firearm applications where an oil is required for lube, I've switched to FP-10 exclusively.
