Hello all,

I am buying another firearm today and I am considering two guns, one is a 5 shot S&W 640 .357 that is priced at $499, it is a used gun. The second is a SigPro with laser for $469 9mm also used. I have a CC licence and know both are nice guns but I also want good "bang for my buck" if you understand, suggestions would definitly help!

Its nice to be back

It really depends on which fits your hands better, and which you can conceal and carry better. Not sure which model Sig you're talking about, but Sig's a good brand, with excellent customer service, and so is Smith.

You really can't go wrong either way.

We could get into revolver vs. semi auto, or 9mm vs. .357, but you already know the differences, otherwise you wouldn't be considering either.

I carry the Sig SP2022 in 9mm and absolutely love it. However you can buy them brand new for $399.00 just about everywhere and I've seen them as low as $349.00. Of the two is prefer the Sig. I generally like the .357 from a larger gun.

I agree with Walking Dead. That price for a 2022 is WAY high. Obviously, the cost of the laser is bringing it that high; and not knowing what laser it is makes it a little complex. I'm not a big fan of the "Sig" laser that comes with many of their firearms. The 2022 is AWESOME, though, in my opinion. You should maybe shop around a bit more, though.

Additionally, I also don't like snubbie .357s. It isn't so much the beating recoil as it is the sheer difficulty of controlling the thing. I prefer larger .357s just like Walking Dead.

It's kind of an apples to oranges comparison, since they're totally different so it comes down to what you personally prefer. I have a Sig 2022 in .40 and I love it. I got it for $399 though, so I would definately try and talk them down some if that's the route you go.

Get the gun with the high capacity magazine. Then buy extra hicap mags while you can.
