Went to gun show this weekend in Robstown and was thoroughly surprised that they had free parking . Entry fee was only $5 which it too was great normally I'm out $10 to $15 which normally nullifies a decent deal. I stopped going to the monthly one held in San Antonio because of the fees unless I am looking for something specific.

I have now moved temporarily to Corpus Christi and was bored so I went to check it out and was surprised in a good way. It's about the same size as the one held in marbach rd.

Prices are still a joke $950 for a keltec pmr 30 , $50 for cci 41 primers and $95 for 22 bulk ammo. Got a great deal on a lee handheld loader for $15.

Attending gunshows is all about having a good time. The only places in my area that charge parking are the shows that are set up in the large facilities that already have controlled parking in place. I suspect the parking is handled by a contractor.

$95 for bulk 22LR. Wow.

Wish the shows around here would try this. I decided to stop going to gun shows about 6 months before the banic started because of getting hosed before even getting in the door. The last gun show I went to in the city charged $25 for parking, not even good parking, in addition to $20 in tickets for myself and the wife. So I decided to stop paying $45 just to get permission to browse as the prices were not worth the entry.

I prefer antique military collectors shows. Much more interesting and I get to dress up like my grandfather. Standard gun shows are generally hectic, expensive and not enough outcome for the effort.

I’ve found the same here. The big shows want too much for admission and parking and no bargains in sight. But the smaller local shows are okay. $5/$6 admission and free parking and usually something inside to make it worthwhile.

Up here in NE Ohio we have the large Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds show coming up this weekend (January 4 & 5 2014). Admission is normally in the $6 range but I am not sure and parking is free. This is generally one of the larger better shows and at one time was advertised as a 1,000 table show. The show generally occupies several fairgrounds large buildings. Sometimes the cold winter shows are done in the heated fairground's buildings.

The promoter (Dick Walters) is also pretty good about lumping the flea market crap together so there isn't junk and jerky at every other table. Overall there are normally plenty of guns both FFL Dealer and Private Sale. I plan to check it out this time around. There might be an older Colt Government or revolver I just must have or S&W older revolver. :)

Went to two locals recently; one a very small town, was only $3 and free parking, but, of course, didn't have a lot of variety. The other was medium sized for this area, $8 and free parking.

I was actually astonished at low prices; $289 Ruger Mark III's, $500 Win 94's, $35 for CCI500 primers or Winchester Small Pistol. Most of the ammo was quite decently priced in a post-Obama sort of way. No 22LR to be had at any price, however.

I haven't been to a gun show in quite a while now. The good show here is held at the fairgrounds. Our Yankee carpet bagger Mayor want to redevelop the property, so they slapped a $5 parking fee on to hurt attendance, so he can say the property is underutilized.
My wife usually came with me, so by the time we pay admission and parking, that's $21. At that point nothing is a good deal inside.

I quit going to ANY gun show for about a year after Sandy Hook. Prices were so stupid that I felt it smarter to protect my wallet from the wolves by staying at home. Went to one last month at the Freeman Coliseum (San Antonio), and was surprised that he parking is now FREE. Prices were better than I expected, but still had to keep calming my wallet down.

Gunshows are the prey and predators nightmare. Be very wary ...Know what you re looking and buying before opening your wallets

In northwest Ohio the local group maumee valley gun collectors assn. charges $5.00 admission and the leaseholder on the county rec center charges $3.00 for parking. you can buy a membership for $20.00 that will get you admission to all 6 shows and free parking.

The largest show nearby is in Columbus, OH at the old Westland Mall, put on by the 'fine folks' at C&E and Showmasters. My group of 6 buds all quit going when it got to be $9 to get in (free parking) but the old retail store it is in is so run down the heat and A/C don't seem to work anymore, the overhead lights are off in some areas, and I have been in cleaner crappers in Cholon City than the one in this building. Some of the vendors have had already quit showing up it is so bad. They should be ashamed to do that to their customers, but the new Casino is nearby, so this place is lokely soon to be dozed down.

Good to know. I have thought about going to that show. I have kids and grand kids in the Columbus area and other family. Figured I would plan a weekend down there when the show was running.

Out here in Portland,OR it is $9.00 admission and $8.00 parking. They always promote their light rail as a way to get there and back, but conveniently forget to tell you that firearms and anything related is illegal and will end you up in jail for awhile. I think it is a big conspiracy to trap legal law abiding gun owners so they can arrest them. Think about it, why would people go to a gun show? They even have a trap set up in the guise of a park and ride lot, but the minute you step on the train and have anything firearm related your goose is cooked. They have you.

Our big (for us) gunshow comes to town 5-6 times per year. Usually $4 parking and $13 entry. Never miss it, but there have been times I actually didn't buy anything. Almost never buy guns, but do find gun related bargains and ammo.

We have about one shoe a month...sometime every other month....I usually go every few months, if nothing else to people watch....it is great fun.

This last one was not bad. 22 brick was ~$40, the "good stuff" something they never have Eley and the such was a little north of that but not bad....enough that if you had to mail order it and pay shipping it would be a wash.

Parking is always free and to get in it is $10.

I usually spend the day watching the people.

i shy away from gunshows. But i did go last Feb last year just to see how much Sandy Hook has done to the gun business. 500 rd brick of REmington Golden Bullet was priced at $75 . Maybe today its even higher as the crazy panic hasnt subsided yet.

All of the gun shows in my area offer free parking, and entrace fee varies from $5-9 depending on the size of the show.

To me, spending $10 to go handle a large array of guns, accessories, and other items is worth it. I never expect to find any bargains, but sometimes you will if you look hard enough.
