ill be there! are these shows any good? never been to one. do they allow you to bring your own guns in to trade?

The Louisville shows are huge! And yes, you are absolutely welcome to bring your own guns and knives to trade.

They do not allow open or concealed carry of loaded arms (lawyer BS). they also really frown on live ammo carried loose, in mags or speed loaders.

Also, no cameras.

The attendees are friendly, and the show is enormous.

Take a bottle or two of soda/water and don't pay 4.00 for the concession drinks or 5.00 for their hotdogs. :)

Have fun!

They are many vendors, and alot of people there as well... mabey too many unless you get there early.

IMHO alot of junk for sale and people with bad hygiene trying to sell you jerky. You can find a good deal on a used gun there, but the cost of admission kind of outweighs what you would save. Most people hang outside the entrance for FTF sales.

im just looking for a decent priced 10/22. plan on being up there around 10-11 this m orning.

I'm right there with you hartmen, I'm looking for a 10/22 as well. I'll have to beat you p there :)

well i got my 10/22! yay. the guy i bought it from is the next town over from me. lol. got his buisness card and plan on seeing him soon.

tons of awesome guns. held a 21000 $$$ shotgun. wow. i also saw a really neat 20 shot revolver. $2100 for it

Hartmen, Glad you had a good time. I was planning to go today, but literally stumbled into the deal of the year at my LGS and spent my money here in Lexington yesterday. :)

Are you from Kentucky?

KR

yes im located in elizAbethtown ky. 45 miles southwest of lousivlle or about 2 hr drive from you

There's a gunshow coming up January 8th here in Lexington. It's not as big as the Louisville show, but I have picked up some great bargains at the last several shows. I always do better trading at the Lexington shows. Let me know if you can make it down.

I heard that Bud's gunshpo is located in Lexington, is that true? I may have to make the drive out there as well. I'm in E-town with you Hartmen.

Since we are on the subject I seen a sign just past the Bank St. exit on 265 advertizing a show December 31- Jan 7 at the fair and expo center.

So I pulled my 10/22 apart the other night to give it a good cleaning, it's from 71 and doesn't look likes it's been cleaned since it left the factory..., and I made a tragic oops. I dropped the trigger assembly and it exploded into eleventybillion little parts :(

So I know i lost a few little parts from looking at an exploded diagram so I'm going to see what Knob Creek will charge to put it together and polkish the trigger vs. getting a new drop in trigger like http://www.rimfiresports.com/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=RSC&Product_Code=VCTP-1&Category_Code=R1A that one.

Anyone know how much Know Creek might charge to rebuild this thing, I was going to call them later today and see.

This place charges $79 for a complete rebuild using your parts, but you are missing parts and it says they may not work on it. Anyway I was just throwing it out there to get a idea of what it may cost to get a rebuild on yours.
http://www.hornetproducts.com/ViewProduct.asp?ModelNumber=TGA-RBS

They also offer a complete trigger for $103

I would probably go with a timney drop in for around $130 and install it yourself.

Thanks Hub, that's not a bad deal. But this rifle came already missing the safety button, so to get the parts that I lost, plus the cost for them to put it back together and tune it, plus the safety being put in I'm looking at the same price or more than that drop in assembly that i posted earlier.

whoa that stinks. i hope you have a backup gun for this ice storm thursday morning. crazy people. cant trust no one.

hahahah I've got a Saiga for any crazy. Well the storm wasn't so bad, got about 3/4 in of ice and didn't see a flake of snow where I was.

I heard that Bud's gunshop is located in Lexington, is that true?

Yes indeed. You should make the drive over sometime. Bud's has an amazing selection of new guns in stock, and one of the best selections of used guns in this neck of the woods as well. They're usually very reasonable on their used guns.

They do not have a very big assortment of accessories cluttering up the place, but use most of their floorspace for guns, guns, guns, and more guns.

I approve. :)

The bright pink billboards for the gunshow over New Years along I-65 made me think that the Dec. 11-12 show had been rescheduled...looks like I was wrong!
