Found myself at the local gun show in Palmetto Fl. today.

More people and longer lines than I've seen in ten years of attending this show. People of all ages and backgrounds, male and female. Many I expect that have never attended a gun show in their lives.
I have never seen so many baby coaches before at the show.

Prices were high on guns and mags. $30 to $80 for AR mags and plenty for sale. AKs from $1100 and up, ARs from $1400 and up from what I saw. Even the big name gun dealer that always has two complete rows of tables had bare tables and his stock thinned out.

The price of ammo was out of this world but people were spending their kids college money to get what they could. $400 AR stripped lowers and not more than a dozen uppers were seen by me for sale.

Lots of private sellers trying to sell their black rifles for $1000+ but not a lot changing hands...

the one good thing, no negligent discharges and all the people I saw were civil...

I also wound up at a regional gun show today. More crowded than any show I ever remember. I saw more whole families, with the women, young and old, than I've ever seen before. I wonder if the gun show people charged admission for the occupants of the baby coaches.

I saw some AK's for under a thousand. I did not see any AR's for under two grand. Other than the evil black rifles, prices weren't really that far out of line. Every dealer was busy. Guns were selling like crazy.

They were lining up around the building an hour before the show opened. Lots and lots of people. So many in fact the fire department came out and got involved. One person leaves the show, one can enter. People upset over the price of ammo. Remington UMC $22 for a box of 20 and people complained even though one shop intown was selling it for $30 a box. One table wss selling it for $18 and they still complained. Was interesting to watch but I wondered if they really understood that shelves were bare and no one had any and didn't know when they would get their next shipment and at what cost.

I went to one too and it had similar prices. Most ARs and AKs started at $1000. Ammo about a $1 a round. Did find some Tula .223 for $0.50 so i bought 2 boxes just because. it was relatively large show, but i saw primarily handguns being purchased. The ARs and AKs stayed on table no one was seriously looking at them. Maybe that was just a local lack of panic buying, but hopefully people are starting to relax. Now we just to make sure to stop any bills in congress and wait for the suppliers to catch up.

Did anyone else see less interest in the ARs?
