Hey guys, I'm looking for some help evaluating the values of a few guns. Long story short, the office manager at the clinic I work at asked me to look over a few guns she inherited when her mother died. She does shoot (owns a .357 revolver) but she's not much of a gun person. Right now I'm cleaning up a blue Ruger New Model Blackhawk .357 (1988), a Savage Model 69 RXL Series E riot* shotgun, and a Western Auto Supply Model 105 .22 S-L-LR bolt action. Not really concerned about the .22 value as her mother specifically requested that it go to her son.
The Ruger seems to be in pretty good shape. The bare metal of the hammer has some significant rust spots, and the trigger guard and butt of the grip have some wear due to being kept in a holster. The bluing appears to be in excellent condition overall. It doesn't appear to have been shot much (minimal wear on the cylinder from the cylinder stop), but it is pretty dirty and needs a good cleaning and lube. I'd probably classify it as good to very good condition, but I'm no expert. Can anyone give me an idea of a fair value?
The Savage shotgun is in pretty rough shape, moderate amount of surface rust, probably enough to warrant cerakoting it. I'll post some photos once I've broken it down and cleaned it.
*Corrected from trench to riot.
