Gunbroker Slumming... Butler Derringer

My dad bought this little Colt .22 Short at a gun show sometime in the 1970s for $20.
I thought Colt had bought Butler out a few years before that.

Colt had the guns made by Butler, and when Colt stopped buying, Butler bought the rights for that design and just kept on going selling them as their own brand. Once Butler was done, an individual bought the whole kit and caboodle, assembled guns from various parts that were already made (many Colt branded) and sold a few of those. Now, they are still available in new gun made from old stock form from some folks who are big in CAS or SASS.
