Well, Galco International has a new customer...My wife!
Here's the long way around a short story. I've used a Galco Concealable for several years now and like it very much. My single mag carrier was a Uncle Mikes belt clip affair that gave up on my a while back when I whacked it on the door pillar of my car. The belt clip broke off, giving me a mag in a box, but no way to attach the box to anything. Kinda useless. My double mag pouch rides well when I'm standing, but tends to print when I sit down. So I need another single, preferably not a plastic one.
I also have a Streamlight TL-2 that has this handy little belt clip. Great light, but the belt clip belongs on an ink pen. It's too short to go over a 1 1/2" belt and too flimsy to hold the light in place against any weight but that of the light itself. Think car doors, regular doors, general knocking around. So I need a holster for the light, as well.
I ordered a single mag carrier for my 1911 and flashlight holster for my Streamlight from Galco. Here's where it gets into some very targeted marketing. I used a debit card that's in my wife's name to pay for the items. To avoid delays, I had her name on the shipping label, also, so billing and shipping match.
The package came in today, my wife opens it and there are chocolates inside! Yeah, my things were all there, but a package addressed to a woman had gunleather and a few little minty chocolates in the box. The wrappers even had the Galco logo on them. My wife, who can barely remember what model handgun she has, suddenly remembers that her holster is a Galco, also. And then says we should buy more of our "holster needs" from them. "Holster needs"? This is the first leather I've bought in a while, it's not like milk you need to buy twice a week!
Oh, and I know they were minty because she let me have one.
