Guns Aren't Enough...Pols want Bullet Control

Beatnik,

I want to shoot my ammunition, not lose it, but there are any number of ways someone could accidentally leave a live round somewhere. For example I drop one behind the couch while loading up, find it later and drop it in my pocket to put it back, forget it and slips out...etc. A live round is perfectly safe, and highly unlikely to be set off by high heels, or a car exhaust, for that matter. Police are not going to bother combing a building looking for the owner.

Unfortunately, I think your reaction to your co-workers, that some terrible, irresponsible, nitwit left it, is not helpful and just contributes to anti-gun hysteria. If someone came to me with a cartridge they found in the parking lot I would shrug, assure them that is was safe, and offer to dispose of it for them.

I apologize if anything I said was taken personally. My point is not what I think, but that our opponents already think these things of all of us.

Heh, yeah, I did offer to take it, even told them how expensive hydroshocks are!
