Other than the AR, what rifles (presumably surplus) have parts available, and that people building from spare parts and kits? I am thinking about embarking on a Browning 1919 build, but would like to see what other people are building before I pull the trigger on collecting parts for that. Seems like the prices on the FAL stuff has gotten pretty high (too high).

If you have done kit builds, post up what you built, how it went, how it shoots, pictures, etc.! I guess I am thinking more in terms of rifles, but if you have built something else, like a STEN or something, post those up too

Back during the Clinton admin before the slime bill passed, I bought a barrelled reciever for an SKS for $10 and then a "parts kit" for $25 and built the SKS I currently have. Other than that, I have built 2 L1A1's and a bunch of AR's.

FALs are always fun. AK's are still doable, though not at the price they used to be. I've seen PKM parts kits, though lord knows where you're going to find a receiver for them (pretty sure they're spare parts only too).
