gunsmith question

Can some one recomend a gun smith that I could send a 1851 navy barrel to have the front
post sight replaced with a dovetailed blade sight?

You should be able to find a smith local that can do that. It's a basic gunsmithing skill, fancy way is a mill and dovetail cutter, or the right way with a dovetail file. A dovetail file only was teeth on one of it's three sides.
 
Yes I know it is basic smith work. I have only lived here in this area for a year. and haven't found a smith yet
