I have been looking forward to starting a lightweight build for a long time. I had decided a while ago to go with a poly lower and got really interested when I saw the offering from E3 Arms. When I went to go pick mine up from my local FFL, I asked the shop gunsmith if he'd be willing to do a once over on video and tell me if I got a lemon or not. He seemed to be pretty pleased with the product, and after my own inspection, I am as well. Give it a watch and let me know what you think.

What is the cost of one of the assembled lowers? It looks like that would be a nice start to a dedicated .22 AR

I think a complete lower comes in around $180 (MSRP), and yeah, a .22lr build would be awesome.

I have the ATI Omni poly lower. Also has the mil spec LPK and steel buffer tube. The ATI did not have the mold flashings. The on thing this has that the ATI doesn't is the oversized trigger guard.

Also, pre Sandy Hook, retailed at $125 or so. I got mine for $90 and some trade.

Let us know how you go with yours. The polymer lowers are a good choice for low budget plinkers.

I have another, more in depth video coming out soon (tm), and as soon as I get my rifle together, I'll have some final thoughts and performance reports.

Speaking of my more in depth review, here it is. Again, this is before actual testing, just close ups, comparisons, and thoughts on this poly lower.

I don't understand why the polymer lowers are getting so popular. A lot of them are priced as much or more than the aluminum ones. I guess weight savings. There are a few reports out there of some of them cracking which concerns me. If they were realllly cheap I would probably pick one up just to try I guess or do a .22 build with one. I could put together a decent quality complete aluminum lower for pretty close to the same price as that one (with lpk, stock, buffer tube. stock, etc).

Oh.....btw Savage, I listen to a podcast you're on every week. You guys do a good job.

It's what I did recently. My LGS had a great deal on a complete New Frontier lower (with stock, trigger, etc.) for $125 (now $150 I believe). Added a CMMG Revo left hand .22lr upper and done. Very nice dedicated .22LR.
