H&K has (finally!) released the P30SK, the subcompact version of the P30. I'm excited - I've never found a subcompact automatic I really like, and I've tried just about all of them, but if the P30 ergonomics translate to a smaller size as well as I hope, I'm going to be adding yet another H&K to my collection.

Someone needs to hit their website staff over the head with a newspaper. The barrel length on the P30SK is marked as 4.86 inches. Which makes it longer than the P30L. So much for compact.

It is a definite possibility if it shoots as good as the full size model, and the LEM is the same. It doesn't seem to be that much lighter though. It takes the same amount as the Glock 26, let's see what the street price comes in at. If they can get it down to the $600.00 range, it should sell.
I would buy one for that price.
Did the picture look crooked to anyone but me?

The interchangeable grip panels patterned on the P30 will be great but I think the big draw will be the ability to have any of the trigger options you can get on the P30. I'd like to get either an LEM with a safety or the sk equivalent of a V3 with safety.

I liked the P30 when it first came out but really didn't want/need another full size 9mm. This new subcompact version would definitely be something that would interest me.

If they come out with a VP9SK, I'll be excited. This one is interesting though.

Boy I don't know. Now that I got a 6 round magazine for my XDs 45, its like the perfect carry gun for me. It's going to take a lot to dethrone it.

A VP9SK would be attractive, but a G19-sized VP9c is what I'm really hoping for.

Just paid for mine. I can't get to it for a few weeks, but really looking forward to it. HK is one of the few major brands I've never owned. I got the Light LEM V1 model. $609

I will never understand the need for an accessory rail on guns in this form factor category......really....?

Got mine on Tuesday....

Much nicer than the Glock 26 I used to have. I'm putting Trijicon HDs on it next week.

You might want to hang a light on it for HD as a bedside gun. 10+1 is no slouch.

What's with the terrible slide machining of the pistols pictured here?

Hopefully those are rough prototypes and not indicative of the quality of production pistols.

Yes, they're prototypes or pre-production examples. Note the low serial numbers. The production guns should be better finished (and from HexHead's photo, it appears they are.)

HexHead - I understand what you "can" do with the rail...but how many people that in the market for a sub compact gun in this price range are "1 gunners" and would do that? It would be nice to see a new model from someone that had some degree of elegance, and didn't scream tacticool. Aesthetically, this piece looks really nice . It just seems that the rail is a mindless "me too" design addition to a get-off-me gun. But that is one person's opinon.

My PPS has a rail also. And it's a perfect fit for a Crimson Trace Railmaster laser. Takes up very little space under the frame but is comforting to have when walking through the parking garage at 9pm after a long day at the office.

BTW, I'm about as far from tacticool as I am from the sun.
