Just a heads up .

RSR just got in a batch of German border police surplus P7's (PSP model) w/ box , tools , 2 mags and holster . For all you that want a P7 but not the new $1400 price . Not too bad a deal . Probably sell for a little under 1/2 of new .

I'm there dude

...is there a link or do I have to 'hunt' with my trusty iBook??
The only site I found is a FFl only gig with no product info.

dude
Your dealer will have to contact RSR Wholesale for further inquiries .

Steve
It is my understanding that they are not refinished . They offered me 3 levels of condition/pricing . I ordered some of each because of the limited quantity available . The best level was described as almost like new . I'll report back when they arrive with a better description and pictures if possible .

Very interesting.... I want one.
What are the prices we will be looking at retail?

It looks like I'm a little late . I see two different posts in the "Handguns For Sale" area here . Mine will be priced less than Blazer's and more than wildalaska's . At $589 he's not making much . It's a good deal .

Pretty sure the difference is that the PSP has the mag release on the bottom of the grip as opposed to the top/side by the trigger guard

For what it's worth, a P7 PSP in 95% condition for example, will usually run about $850, but I've seen them as high as $950 in the same condition. One that is LNIB can set you back right around $1000 or more. :)
How does the PSP differ from the P7M8?
The P7 PSP's trigger is thinner and its trigger guard is smaller than the P7M8.

The last batch of German P.S.P.'s I saw had the German crest milled off in a very unsightly way. I dunno why they felt it necessary to do this, but it really turned me off.:(

The PSP is the orginal design for the P7.

European mag release on the heel, no thumb mag release.

Thinner, shorter, lighter by minimal numbers.

But for CCW, it's a great gun.

Mine 83' hard chromed PSP shoots 1-2 inch groups at 25 yards offhand with most of my ammo - factory or reloads - and is built to last.

You do need to get them refinished in time though. I was lucky and the previous owner had hardchromed the gun and several mags.

I've owned the PSP and the P7M8 and prefer the original design.

Go to http://hkp7.com/

Here is the PSP:

Here is a P7M8:

Again, if you can get a P7, any P7 for under $700 now, grab it!

The PSP has a smaller trigger guard and thinner trigger than the P7M8.

The PSP has a heel release, the P7M8 has an American-style mag release.

The PSP lacks the removable striker of the P7M8, and it also doesn't have the heat shield above the trigger guard.

wildalaska may be responsible for increasing the consumer base for P7's by 50% around here, maybe more...
Not a bad thing, by any means...

Just judging the proportions, it looks as if the PSP should fit any holster for the P7M8, correct?
Correct.

However, I have read that the PSP will be slightly loose in some leather holsters (which are made for the M8) due to the fact that the PSP doesn't have the M8's ambi mag releases.
Are the magazines interchangable?
Nope.

PSP and P7M8 mags are not interchangable. The PSP may not fit properly into a holster made to precisely fit a P7M8 because the trigger guard is slightly different. The PSP has no heat shield so don't count on shooting it for more than 50 rounds without getting some serious heat...those buggers heat up fast!
