I need your help/opinions on the H&K USP .45 pistol. I have always been a Glock owner....17, 26, and 23. My next purchase was going to be a Glock 21SF or a 30SF to give me a .45 in the stable. However, I came across a deal on this H&K USP that I think I must consider before getting another Glock. The gun is in excellent condition....price is $550.

Is this a good deal? Does the OD desert brown add any value?

I don't plan on trying to conceal this gun....my 23 is used for my CCW needs. This will probably be a home defense gun and a range shooter.

Thanks for the help!

I would say in my area (SWFL) that is an excellent deal. Not as many made in OD or tan. So not RARE, but not common.

If I were to see it I would buy it. I had a V1 and traded it to get the wife a P239. If she's happy, I'm happy.

Oh yes. Good deal. I bought a USP compact .45 for $545 several years ago and haven't seen them anywhere near since. Last prices I've seen are closer to $700-850.

Not sure why.

The HK quality and reliability are great. I switched from Glock. Plus, you already own what I consider to be the 3 best Glocks anyway. ;)

If you can conceal the 23 you can probably fairly easily conceal the USP compact. Haven't shot the full-size in .45 myself but it should be good. It has a fancier recoil buffer system than the compact, which shoots well.

Trigger takes a while to get used to. You can switch variants; I like the traditional V1 (SA/DA) as it is so versatile.

ETA: Have seen the desert tan offered for either more or less, depending on the store and time period. Fewer made. I think they look cool...

Great deal! Lots of guys on the HKPro forum look for those particular USPs with the colored frames. VERY desireable! Well done.
