I have a H&R Sportsman Double action with these numbers on it. A13182 in one spot and 13182 under the grip. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the model and date it was made. I acquired it from my dad and wanted to find out the history behind it. I also am looking for parts. Thank you

Flannigan, I believe what you have is a H&R Model 999 Sportsman made in 1940. This is based on the 'A' prefix in the serial number you've provided. Hope this helps!

It does help. Is there any chance you might know the value? Thank you for the information.

Flannigan, I have the same pistol, and it is literally my favorite .22 revolver of all time. Numrich carries parts for it, and I suppose there is a small chance that H&R (now owned by Marlin) might still have stuff laying around.

Sadly, mine is currently broken. That's too bad for me, because this little revolver represents perfection in a .22 revo, in my opinion.

Love mine as well. I was lucky enough to recieve it after my Grandpa passed away. My dad used to shoot it as a kid back in the mid 50's in the basement with blanks practicing his fast draw (like his heros on the radio:D)

The hammer on mine is not the orginal as dad dropped it once on the basement floor and broke it. Gramps worked in a maintance shop for the railroad back then, so he simply manufactured a new one (on break:D)

Great pistol - my favorite.

I've got one, bought it new in the late 1950's. Blued finish. Tear-drop shaped, slab side barrel (heavy on the bottom) & 9-shot cylinder. Back in the middle 70's I carried it daily running my trap lines. It dispatched many Foxes & Raccoons. The only complaint I have with the revolver is the rear sight will work loose & fall out of the mount. The only .22 pistol I like better is my Browning Buckmark.
