Hello everyone. Not looking for load data just wondering if the combination has worked for people. Mainly just being used to plink at 100 yards. This will be used in a 5.56 ar.

Thanks in advance.

I was going to use varget that I have but do to costs I thought I would try h335. I will try the varget in 308 when I start to load for it.

My first load after building an AR was 55 gr Sierra Blitz Kings! Max load from Sierra manual of 4895. Five shot a 100 yds could be covered with a dime. Looked no further. Since I try to have a lot of same powder for various loads, all my 223's are with 4895!
Wish I could shoot like that still. The rifle can it is the loose nut behind the trigger that I have to deal with now!
Of course all rifles are different.

It works but my rifle prefers TAC for accuracy purposes. H335 shot 2.5” for 10 shots and TAC was 2”. Small difference and I won’t go get TAC if I already had H335.

Save the Varget for bullets that deserve it.

H335 is (relatively) inexpensive, and it's available... it's the perfect powder for 5.56mm blasting ammos. I will say, as some have mentioned, TAC is an excellent substitute, and is nearly the same cost point. The added value to TAC is... it works very well in .308, also, either as a blasting powder (think M80 clone with 150grn FMJ's...) or even as an 'accuracy' powder... TAC very nearly outshot IMR4064 for me, with the 168grn SMK in my Savage model 10.

AR with red dot sight I use any powder and bullets I have that has the point of impact. Some don't . Not a precise set up

I've always thought that H335 was used exclusively for the military M193 cartridge. I purchased bulk "surplus" powder in the past, (from pulled down ammo), in gallon jugs, that said to use H335 data on the label!

I have shot many pounds of H335 under 55 hornady soft points and fmj bullets. I have no complaints. I have also used CFE223 and BL-C2 with the same bullets. No chrono here, so I can't say how different they are velocity wise. All work well for my AR plinking.

A commercial version of H335 is used in military M193 (and M855, I believe...) ammo... WC844. It is similar to H335, but not exact, although loading data is likely very similar.

The commercial version of BL-C(2) is used in military M80 (7.62mm) ammos... WC846.

I have reloaded for pistol mainly and some cast rifle loads. So I'm leaning things as I go with jacketed rounds. I will definitely start looking for tac. I'm hoping to get a m1a in a couple months.

that's a very popular combo

If you shoot it through a rifle with no flash suppressor, or a short barreled AR, it makes a GIANT flashbulb muzzle flash
