Wife and daughter took me shopping downtown today. I sat back silently as they hit all the usual shops that cater to the fairer sex. Little did they know I was biding my time to hit the new gunshop located next to a lil gallery shop they are known to frequent. I had these selected and filling out the 4473 within 5 minutes. CZ P01 and Remington 742 in 06. Resized_LO120dZf-72573005.jpeg Resized_ispWEI7v-72541922.jpeg

Wow, haven't seen a Remington 742 BDL Custom Deluxe with a three times nine scope in look under brackets in a long time.
Only improvement would be a TV Redfield.
It was in the shop less than 24hrs. The shop owner said it was traded for an AK that he'd had in there a while. Yesterday was my birthday so everything seemed to fall in line!

That's showin' 'em !

Did you have to hold their purses while they fingered the merchandise on the racks and held it up to themselves on a hanger in front of a mirror? I suspect, without actually knowing, that they're all trained to make men do that when they're little girls. Hated that.

So Happy Birthday !

I did my duty as husband/father. Nodded and smiled approvingly, carried all the bags, paid at the register when it was time. Luckily she showed the same courtesy when she came into the shop to find me sitting on the sofa waiting on my background check! Funny thing, my 14 yo son came home from school and confiscated the Remington. He said I can keep the CZ, he prefers Glocks!

Very nice! An absolutely fair trade off for an afternoon of bag toting and crowd-jostling during holiday shopping season .

I will be picking up my new P-01 and lightly used 2075 RAMI 9mm’s on Saturday. I already have my Cajun Gun Works spring and firing pin kit for the P-01 on my workbench waiting for its arrival ;).

Let us know how they shoot for you when you get a chance to stretch their legs a bit. :)

Stay safe.

Nice guns but I bet the womenfolk in your family go right on shopping like they want. My wife has grumbled at me for years and years that I am no fun to take shopping and I can see why. Women usually have to look at everything in the store---at least three times. Men just go in a store, grab what they need, pay, and leave.

I can be talked into browsing around in junk stores, commonly referred to as "antique" stores. I usually hit the used book sections. It may or may not still be there but there used to be an honest one in little Questa, NM. In front it had a sign saying "Typical Tourist Trap". I liked his used book selection as he gave them away. Said he loved to give books to people that liked to read.

My wife would make the special trip to the gun shop....she is actually worse then I am. Like I said it is no fun being the "adult".

Nice presents. Happy birthday!

Last year I dragged my wife into the local gun shop after a day of clothes shopping for her. I asked to see a Browning Buckmark and the clerk handed it to me. I held it up and asked my wife, "Does this gun make my butt look big?"

She said yes, but I bought it anyway.

You have more patience than I do, the wife goes shopping with her friends/sisters and I go gun shopping with mine. I'd probably lose it if I had to spend several hours shopping with them .

Just got around to shooting these 2 today. The 742 ran flawlessly with both 150 PowerPoints and 125gr SST. To my surprise it seemed to like the 125s best, right around 2" at 100yds offhand. My son loved it, I guess it's his now! The CZ did about as expected but seemed to have different trigger break as my non Omega models. Not bad, just different. I had no trouble making the steel ring at 25yds. It's a keeper.
