I bought this Hakim 4 weeks ago at a gun show from a dealer I know. I has an unusual flash hider/muzzle brake. Can anyone tell me what it is? I will try to send a photo.

I havent seen one like that; but it looks to be close to either an SVT with the bayo lug there, or a Tabuk's FH if it screws on in front of the sight block...but the external threading? Perhaps some kind of additional grenade launching equipment or a suppressor mount?

It looks like the whole front end has been sporterized, with an AK-style front sight and then some sort of aftermarket muzzle device (ala M14 style) attached to that. I'm curious what the rest of the rifle looks like!

The front sight block is from some flavor of AK, and the flash hider is from a Yugo M76. The interrupted threads at the rear end give it away.

Someone has changed your front sight and muzzle brake. Probably because they didn't like the tremendous roar produced by the original. When I've taken mine to the range to shoot I've always got several inquiries and and lots of stares from people wanting to know what I'm shooting. Many thought it was some kind of 50 cal or other heavy caliber due to the muzzle blast sent down the range by the brake.

Below is the muzzle brake found on original Hakim rifles.

they are loud with the original brake. i have a "paratrooper" model i made from a parts gun that has an AK underfolder, an MG13 magazine, and the original brake silver soldered onto a 14" barrel. that baby roars with heavy ball yugo or ecuadoran.
