This question is just for "shock and awe". What's the most impressive load you've used for huge fireballs?
Mine was in a T/C contender in .35 rem loaded with H335. The flash from that load would blind you at night! I have a lone eagle in 30-06 that is close but nothing has ever equalled that Contender load.

done all of them....they aren't even in the same ballpark.
The 35 rem flash was about 5 feet long and 3 feet in diameter.
My 30-06 pistol is about 4ft x 2ft. I wish I could have gotten a pic of it but I sold the 35 rem about 10 years ago. I still have the 30-06 though.

7.5 inch Ruger Blackhawk in .30 Carbine shooting Winchester 110 FMJs. Also the loudest handgun I have ever fired. Turns night into day :).

4 inch S&W Model 629 .44 Magnum shooting handloads consisting of 180 Grain JHPs over a whole bunch of H110. Huge orange flash out of the cylinder gap and barrel, and will also will blow water filled two and three liter coke bottles completely in half.

1.875 inch Ruger LCR .357 Magnum with handloaded 125 JHPs with H110. When touched off the only parts of the gun visible in the muzzle flash were the sights :).

IME experience the long barreled pistols (Contender, Encore, XP-100 etc) have less muzzle flash due to the longer barrels allowing for more complete powder burn, but YMMV. I used to have a T/C Encore 15 inch in .270 Winchester that had less muzzle flash than the above revolvers.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

When I got my first .44 Magnum, a 629, I would load some hot loads of AA9 and 240 gr JHPs. I frequented a shooting range near LAX and one time I was shooting some real hefty loads when I heard some "muttering" behind me. I turned and saw several Japanese gentlemen, all dressed in suits, talking among themselves (all decked out in ear muffs and eye protection). I learned later that they were on a "Shooting Junket", a tour of the west coast ranges and to do some shooting, and I guess the range was in on the deal. Seems my load impressed them; huge muzzle blast and accompanying recoil and quite visible shock wave disturbing the dust on the range floor. While I couldn't understand anything they said I did hear "mutter, mutter mutter, Dirty Harry, mutter mutter"...:D

The Contender, although technically a pistol, isn't comparable to most handguns when loaded in calibers like .35 Rem. and 30-06. Really a different class of firearm altogether.

Big LongShot loads in a 2" barrel over/under .357 mag Derringer. :)

I just stumbled upon Brass Max from Tulammo, and it has some serious flash out of my G19. It's also kind of inconsistent as far as accuracy.

LOL... I just hate shooting that thing with such a small grip, Leaves a beating in the palm of my hand! :)
Good catch there Ex, I forgot about Longshot, it does have a pretty decent flash from short barrels also.
