"I don't know how many people have a "Protected by Smith & Wesson" on their door. There's nothing wrong if they want to put it on their door. But don't you see that it would be wrong if someone put it on your door without your permission and, perhaps, even without your knowledge?"
yes, you're correct. an individual releasing their private information would be the ideal. what we are dealing with currently is new york law defending the first amendment. what was the reason for posting the list? from what has been posted here thus far it would seem it was done with anti-gun sentiment. is it supposed to shame gun owners? put fear into the hearts of their neighbors? maybe just to stir the anti's pot. make a few voices scream louder. if so, then it seems to me that they are hurting their cause. in almost every cause worth fighting for, it took individual exposure to turn public sentiment to the point where laws where changed. you might as well print the names of the first 30,000 woman who voted, or the first 30,000 blacks who rode at the front of the bus. here we have THIRTY THOUSAND law abiding citizens, in just these two counties, who have decided to keep handguns. (wow!!!) talk about being a witness to truth. the anti's think this info will raise anti-sentiment? i think ( as long as no hot headed gun owner's polarize them to the anti's side) this will open the door for more people to be introduced to the fun world of gun ownership!
let's step up and ride at the front of the bus!!!
