Handgun safe recommendation

Hey Y'all,

I am in the market for a handgun safe. Here is what I am looking for:

-Must be large enough for a glock 17
-Must be MECHANICAL, prefer it not to have batteries
-Ideally it needs to be fast access
-My budget for this is not very large

Does anything like this exist?

While not mechanical I would highly recommend a product called The Gun Box. How original right? It has an internal battery and an AC adapter. I have had mine about 2 years so can answer some questions.

Otherwise to fit your mechanical requirement I would recommend a Ft Knox pistol box. They hover right around $300 but I did find one for around $220 just can't find that sight again.

When looking for the safes that use the "Simplex" style lock, your budget is probably the biggest obstacle. All of the ones available are heavy steel compared to the electronic ones and you should expect to pay more for those features. The lock alone is about an $80 MSRP item. The lock is also serviceable and it can simply be replaced if you ever do wear one out. They are quick, durable, and will provide years if not a lifetime of service. My exprience with theses locks over the last 6.5 years has been exceptional.
