I saw an old thread with this subject. Figured I'd get responses that were newer and the same. Went to the range last week with 1885 Highwall Single shot Browning and my new acquisition Carl Gustaf Sauer 3000 both 30-06. Changed scopes from Tasco to Nikon on 3000 it shot right on with Tasco, but a $20. Scope, really. My 1885 less than a minute. 3000 couldn't hit paper. Bore sighted at home, obviously a terrible job. I couldn't hit paper at 100yds. Next time I'll go back to 50. To make a short story long. I use 6 reloading manuals to make my decisions, read IMR 4350 the most accurate powder weight 48-58gr. I went with 57,a lot of powder. Fed 210m primer. Seating depth 3.230.Almost out of that IMR any suggestions. And does the Sauer Colt action going to hold up pretty well to these loads?
