i have a rem 700 heavy barrel with a 1-10 twist. like to shoot it a targets between 100 and 600 yards, i have berger 87g and 115g bullets rem brass, cci reg , br, & mag primers. no powder yet any ideals on loads? i've loaded alot for my 6mm br. thought i would try the 25-06. thanks tim-00

tim, welcome. best powder I have found for the 25-06 is IMR 4831 or the SC offering of the same powder. The SC (short cut) meters much better for thrown charges. As for charges, with a 115 Nosler BT the best for me has been 51.7gn and clock at 3150 out of a 26"bbl. I'm seating .025 off the lead. According to my books this is a safe load but on the high end of the spectrum. 48.5gn of IMR4350 is my #2 load and it runs at 3100fps also safe but on the high end. Primers are Fed 210. As usual load with caution, consult reference books etc, for all you know, I'm just some moron with a computer.
Good luck,
~z

I've had good luck with both 48.0 and 49.0 gr of IMR 4350 underneath a 110 gr Nosler Accubond. I've been using Remington brass and Winchester primers.

rl-22, rl-25, and h-4831 have been very impressive in the 25-06 (especially 120 sierra gamekings and rl-25).

100 grain noslers worked best w/ rl-22 and h-4831.

H-4831

I guess they also make H4831-sc now as well and that should measure better.
I can't remember my exact load right now but I think it must have been up around 52 grains with the 117gr, Boat Tail Sierra HPBTM. This was an awesome combo in my Ruger 77. I could normally put 5 under 3/4" at one hundred and that was with a scope that was way underpowered and had cross hairs that could have been called cross sticks. Seriously, if I put a tach on apaper for my aiming point I could not see the tack at the intersection of the cross hairs. I always thought the rifle was capable of better accuracy with better optics.

My pet load for my Rem Classic 25.06 is a Nosler 110gr Accubond in front of RL22. It's very accurate in my rifle and it's performance on game has been excellent for me.

RL22/53.5grs
Rem Brass
Fed210
COL = 3.244 (0.010 off the lands in my rifle)
