I like the Lee Hand Press with the Lee Ram Prime Unit installed .
No plastic , no folding trays or safety features ...the Hand Press is metal and the Ram Prime is all metal ... nothing to break ... I just love it !

I've always said the ram primer mech that was included with my RCBS RS3 press is the best primer tool evarrrr. Mounting on top of the press for ease of use, although you have to handle every primer. usually the weight of the press handle and 2 fingers is the perfect amount of pressure to seat a primer.

(Wear safety glasses)
Absolutely. Not to stray off topic, but since laser cataract surgery, I only "need" glasses for close up. Nevertheless, I wear bifocal safety glasses with just a little correction in the lower, inside corners of the lenses. I hate having to reach for reading glasses every time I want to read something, and I hate having to reach for safety glasses or goggles every time I want to do some reloading, or go shooting, or run a power saw (I'm also into woodworking) or some other kind of power tool. Besides, I was required to wear safety glasses on the job even before I needed glasses with corrective lenses. So, I kinda got used to wearing them over the years.

I've used most of the brands and don't really like any of them. (The Sinclair is a precision tool, but I'm not going to prime 50 or 100 revolver cases with one!).

These days I go back and forth between the standard RCBS and the "Universal" one. I'll use the standard until I get tired of the overly-complex shell holder replacement, and then I'll switch to the universal until I get tired of having to fiddle with it to get the pocket to line up with the primer, and chasing the occasional bit of brass after it pops out of the jaws and goes flying.

I haven't tried the F.A. version and may get around to it someday.

Those round to-its are getting mighty hard to find these days. Must be a supply-chain issue.

I really, really like the feel of the old Lee hand primers. Ones with the round trays and break once in a while. Don't actively look for them but if one comes across my way, I buy it. Have 5 and a baggie of parts.View attachment 1108048

The RCBS Universal requires primed cases to be pulled out of the spring-loaded shell-holder.
The original RCBS hand primer with the shell-holders will drop them out when you release the handle. This just about doubles the productivity rate.

The original RCBS hand primer's white plastic feeder receives primers from the tray input and the piston pushes them up through a tall plastic tube that goes inside the shellholder. It's durable.
The RCBS Universal receives the primers from the tray into the white plastic feeder and the piston pushes them just past a thin plastic shell. If the primer isn't perfectly aligned with the hole in the white plastic part, it's easy for the piston to push the primer into the edge of the white plastic hole and chip it out. RCBS will provide replacement parts, but I've had to order two or three of them now and stopped using this tool so I can sell it while the parts are still good.

The round and square primer trays for both RCBS tools are problematic. Lee trays are better and compatible.

I want to try a Lee ACP, but I'm concerned the primer feeder has problems and as a user of a similar Lee case feeder on a press, I know it isn't trouble-free. I hope someone develops a priming machine with a case feeder where both the case and primer feeds are trouble-free.

The Lyman hand primer looks good, but I have not used one yet. I think I would try one of those if I were to buy another.

I think it's easier than both. The primer tubes are loaded just like the RCBS tubes you mentioned and a single stroke of the lever seats a primer. It would also be easier for those with arthritic hands.

Learned on a Lee (round tray,) the clear plastic cover ain't clear anymore, and I still use the Lee (round tray...for some 30+ years now...) To stubborn to switch to an RCBS that has a square tray, to match the primer box...nooo, just set in my ways..

I just like RCBS Universal hand primer, I must have been in the chips at one time because I bought one for Large and one for Small, because every time i need one, the guts are wrong size. I still have one with the shell holder, stays set up for 30-06. But seldom gets called up. The only other primer device I ever used was the one on the Rock Chucker and it has been removed years ago.
Your dedicated 30-06 for large primer is gtg for 45acp.
