Today is apparently not just the birthday of Sam Colt, but also Gaston Glock.

Brief mention here.

Today is coincidentally the birthday of both Samuel Colt and Gaston Glock. (Born July 19, 1814, and July 19, 1929, respectively.) It has been rightly said: "God may have made men, but Samuel Colt made them equal." [ . . . ] In my estimation both Colt and Glock's designs are significant contributions to human liberty and equality, all around the world.

So, celebrate in whatever fashion you wish: take your wheelgun to the range, or grab your Tactical Tupperware.

Send a few rounds downrange in honor of a pair of equalizer icons.

I wonder if Colt will do something for the bicentennial of his birth in two years? Would be nice just see some sort of rollmark on all the guns built that year.

As luck would have it, one of my best shooting buddies has a July 19th birthday as well. Guess July 19th has good gun karma.

I suspect something like between 1/364th and 1/366th of the population have the same day-month DOB. Roughly. More or less. I guess.

I reckon it's just coincidence that the incidence of same-day marriage anniversaries is about the same. Kinda. Plus or minus.
