Has Missouri Bullets cut back their selections?

Went on the MB website and searched for several pistol bullet categories. Instead of several pages for 357 and 40 caliber stuff the selections were down to one or two offerings. The 357 page only listed the 158 grain coated SWC. No wadcutters, no 180 grain, no uncoated bullets.

Am I having some bizarre computer problem or has MB cut way back for the moment?

Jeff

I can't find it now, but I read something last week that MBC had decided to focus on their most popular bullets for a while in order to try to catch up with their orders. As you probably know they're running 10-12 weeks behind just now.

They produce a couple of bullets that I want to order myself, but for now they are not available.

I didn't see any notice but your explanation makes sense. They have got to be running flat out to meet earlier orders and make current ones possible.

Thanks. I was wondering if my computer was possessed by some rare anti cast bullet virus. :D

It's quite common in times like this that most bullets makers will temporarily suspend production of lesser used bullets to meet demand.

When I was there a week or 2 ago I left pretty bummed. Looked like they have cut back a lot. I totally don't blame them, its business but a lot of the things I would buy from them are gone for now.

Yeah, my two favorite projectiles of theirs, their 44 "240g Cowboy #3" and their 38 "148g PPC #2 DEWC" aren't even currently available. Like everyone is saying, they're cutting down on types to help speed up production.

To be honest I was just posting a thread about how I was loading up some odds and ends boxes, mainly old everglades and MBC stuff, from before I settled on loads for 357 and 44. Now I use the 158gn LWSC in 357 and the 240gn "Keith" in 44 exclusively, so I've been 'getting rid of' the 148gn DEWC & 180gn Hammer bullets, as well as some 300gn Crusher bullets (may have the crusher / hammer reversed by caliber, can't recall and not right in front of me). I really like the 148gn DEWC bullets actually but I have plenty of stellar loads with my 158gns and they don't require me to have a set of 38spl dies to load the short COAL.

So, all the better for me! They're only making the bullets I want to speed up my orders!

Yes they have cut back; they're only producing the most popular at this time - per the email they replied to - so they can catch up with THAT demand. once that happens (if ever) then the smaller production runs will start; I was asking about some .32 bullets for my I frame.

The last time around even the biggest bullet makers stopped making bullets that were in less demand.

Yes and I agree with others that it's likely to meet demand on their most popular bullets, but don't be surprised if it remains this way even after things go back to "normal."

I would disagree here

They've already spent all the money to be able to produce the other bullets and once the demand is met they will rediversify to maximize sales

Gallant went to a 7 coated bullet catalog very early on. NOT including the 200 gr RN .45 I was coming to like.
Four weights of 9mm, one .40, one .45, and a .30. That last no doubt for subsonics.
