Admitting some boneheadery on my part last weekend, I stuck my SilencerCo Omega on my PRS match rifle for the first time in a while with intention to shoot that Regional match suppressed in preparation for the Pro Series/AG Cup match this coming weekend which is "Suppressor ONLY." Shooting predominantly with a brake, I forgot which shims I use to mount my Magnetospeed bayonet... Then I recalled that another shooter had gifted me a spare alignment rod back in Feb, after we had chatted, unrelated, that I'd lost my alignment rod nearly immediately after buying my V3 several years ago - so I slipped the rod into my can to help align the magnetospeed. Chatting with other shooters on the line as I set up my computer and loaded my magazine, I neglected to remove the rod from my suppressor, and sent a bullet right up its tail... Baffle strike with damage on almost every baffle, and cracked end cap. WAY less damage than I expected, but I wasn't terribly certain if it was still safe, and certainly didn't expect it to perform well for that match, or the upcoming big match this weekend.

Perfect timing, right? Have a completely preventable baffle strike, completely my fault, the weekend before a Suppressor ONLY pro match...

So Monday morning, I got on the horn with SilencerCo customer support and asked the cost and speed to replace my core and endcap. After speaking with the rep, I drove into town and overnighted the suppressor to them. They had my can for less than 6hrs on Tuesday before it was back on the road, and with less than 70 hours out of my possession, I received it back to my door this morning. And the best part, despite admitting my own fault in the damage, SiCo replaced the core and end cap at no cost to me!

I'd been weighing whether to buy another Omega 300 or a ThunderBeast Ultra7 recently, and was leaning towards the TBAC... But after that quick response and fantastic service, my mind is pretty well made up to bring another Omega into the trust.

it sounds like you may need yet ANOTHER alignment rod.

After this experience, I’m pretty committed that I shouldn’t have another in my life. I dropped the first rod I had, which came with my V3, through the window of a very busy indoor range on one of my first trips to chrony with the V3. I made it several years without… although, I AM tempted to make a magnetic version, or 3D print a clip on version, which 1) won’t jump off of the bayonet, or 2) doing so, enticed me to slip it into the bore of my can in the first place.

Damned sure going to have a BIG RED FLAG on the end of the next rod, whatever version I land with.

It’s great to hear how well our industry takes care of us, and often! I think it is exemplary for the rest of our commerce and should be emulated more.

Glad you got your can repaired in time, too!
Mistakes happen, usually by me, and it’s terrible when a competitor has to drop because of it. I’d rather them forget their scope settings if they have to get knocked out of the run.

Good luck! We’re pulling’ for ya!

Good to hear great customer service from Silencerco, that is stand up service if I've ever seen any! That turn around is impressive, I'm sure they'll get enough payment in word of mouth to cover any of those costs. This should be a big part of a companies marketing budget, keep customers happy and they'll keep the lips flapping. No doubt on the firing line at your competition your experience will get some people looking their way.

I've had good verbal customer service with them but never warranty/repair service needed.

They are my go to for suppressors, quality materials and good workmanship.

About a decade ago, a customer of mine shot his SiCo silencer right into the Trinity River just south of Dallas. He didn't follow instructions on using the ASR mount and launched it.
He contacted SiCo about maybe getting a discount and they told him "send us a police report on your missing silencer and we'll ship your dealer a new one, but you''l have to pay for another tax stamp".

Thats awesome. Ya'll should also note that SiCo isn't the only silencer manufacturer to have such awesome CS.

That’s spectacular. It’s good to know they’ll replace the omega internals too, since they’re not user serviceable.

Ya'll should also note that SiCo isn't the only silencer manufacturer to have such awesome CS.

Certainly a fair and accurate statement.

When I walked into the shooter’s supper tonight after checking into the match, one of the TBAC reps walked up and gave me a big bro hug and asked how my FIL is doing (not so hot the last couple of weeks).

Pretty good folks in this industry.
