How much do those pellets weigh, and have you had a chance to compare the penetration to something like a 20ft/lb .22 cal?

Depending on the pellet brand. They weight between 47 to 50 grams. My 135 ram is set at 173bar. Stock rams are 150bar.
The gun averages about 570fps. 50 grain pellet 36.1fpe

The pellets I was using where
570fps
46.80 grains
35.1fpe

The .22 may have better penetration, but the entry hole would be much smaller and will not have the same energy shock of a larger projectile.
