The title says it all...my gun plans are all on hold due to life events some good some bad. Well guys Ive been away from the site awhile. I made Staff Sgt and the Air Force sent me to Airman leadership School. Im still in it and its going pretty good. My wife is preg again, some of you know the situtaion that happened last year when she lost the baby so we are taking no chances this time and being really safe. And to top it all off wednesday 3OCT i was in the ER getting emergancy surgery to get my appendix removed because it was starting to burst so right now i feel like someone beat the crap out of me. So new baby means diapers and formula not guns and bullets lol. I think i can convince the wife thats pink .22 would be a good present for our 18mth old daughter cause they are cheap now and they might go up....thats justifiable right? lol

Jeremy..

Hey man, good luck with everything!

And I think you could have her sold... make sure it is small enough to conceal in the diaper though, I heard day cares are pretty rough now... ;)

Hate to mix topics here, but through baby and all we saved a heckuva lot of money for guns and other fun things by breastfeeding and cloth-diapering. I figure I'm entitled to a couple thousand bucks *at least* in fun toys that go bang after the year and a half of nursing and washing diapers. So far, my husband hasn't disagreed on that point...

Plus, I never have to get up at night. Warm milk is always at the ready. :D

my wife is 3mths along right now and we are talking about what we are going to do. but cloth diapers are out just a personal pref ill pay for the ease of being able to throw away the little bundles of evil the next baby will be leaving for me. and iiibdsilil my wife is getting her concealed carry soon so with the diaper bag/stroller we have i thnk i could conceal a CAR-4 or a 500 Persuader with M-4 Stock if i wanted

Hope your recovery is rapid.

Yeah, those guns and ammo will come around later down the road.

I use that excuse all the time, much to my bank account's protest.

Congratulations of making SSgt and my sincere best wishes and prayers on the pregnancy. Guns are nice to have but family and career (to take care of the family) need to be your priority now. But it sounds like you have your head on straight.

Good on you for not being sterile :D

Kids, besides the cost of feeding and maintaining them, aren't that bad off when it comes to guns.

When I was a littlun we learned to shoot on .22's, and had all the fun we could stand for the price of a brick of ammo. Up at pops' place we'd shoot beer cans, hubcaps, whatever.

As soon as my brother turned 12, dad started buying guns "for him" that would pretty much get equal time between us. Remember, you gotta outfit them to hunt! Don't neglect the value of living vicariously!! :)

There are too many bozo fathers out there that would have their wives and children starve so he could trick out his new SKS. Good SHow!

Congratulations on several accouts sgt. I hope you are feeling better.

While I do cherish my guns, I think you will find spending money on a cute little baby more rewarding.

fathers make sacrifices for their children........that's what we do.

but unless it was the last one on earth and I was under serious attack....there is no way in 'ell that I would ever buy a pink gun. :what: even if it was for a girl. Pink is for their underwear. Girls like black and chrome/stainless. Why else would they be so attracted to bikes?

I was promoted to S/Sgt on 1 Aug, 52--lets you guess my age pretty well.

Best of luck to you and your wife.

Get well soon and keep her away from any more stress. Former wife had two miscarriages herself --a real low point in life, I can testify. Bummer.

[Off-Topic] Hey, Delta9, where in heck do you buy cloth diapers? I used to use them (cleaned, after the kids were out of them) for all kinds of other stuff.

Nowadays I can't find them anywhere and I'm stuck with using those red shop rags from auto parts stores which bleed all over everything in the wash. (Don't athk how I know.)

B36 AF S/Sgt? Well thanks for your service back then you were old school air force back when SAC struck fear in the hearts of commies everywhere

Congratulations - as far as a flip side my son also just made SSG and is being sent to Italy for four years. I getting all the guns I gave him plus a few extra to keep while he's gone. Gave him my DSA FAL a couple of years back, look forward to shooting it again.

Hey! You need to get your priorities straight. Just Kidding. I didn;t buy any guns the 10 years I was in the Air Force, as I didn't want to have to store my guns at the SP shack on base. Anyway, just remember what will happen if we get "Queen Rodham" next year. Ironically, a year after I got out, Bush 41 banned so-called "Assault Weapons".

fbodyninja,
You are on top of the world whether you know it or not. Life can't get much better. I've been there and I envy you for being there now, cause I can't be.
May god bless.

At a low point in our lives I had to sell guns I really loved for fripperies like food, rent, etc. It was due to factors like you mention: new baby, income not adequate to keep up the payments on the Ferrari (just kidding on that one). You are right about the breast feeding being a good idea, and not just economic. Mother's milk is beneficial for the baby's immune system in ways that commercial products can never equal. Our son was breast fed for quite a while, and has enjoyed fine health from babyhood to now- 25 yrs old and looks like tangling with him would be like grappling with a grizzly bear. He has been the greatest blessing in our life. Hang in there and your gun collection will grow again. Enjoy the ones you have until you can add more. A suggestion: eat dinner as a family regularly and ask the Lord to bless your table. Congratulations and God bless you and your family.
