I have. :)

My M1A loaded came in today. (Walnut/carbon barrel) It is a thing of beauty and I have no buyer's remorse. (I've wanted one for 15 years) I was a bit surprised that it didn't come with a 20 round magazine. Is that normal? The box is marked that it's illegal in CA, so I don't think that is the issue. (Luckily I've got some 20 rounder's on the shelf. :) )

I'll try to get some pictures up after she gets her initial range outing.

Have a good one,
Dave

I bought my Loaded about a year ago and it only came with one 10 rounder. I bought ten T-57 20 rounders for it and most have worked flawlessly. My brother also managed to get his hands on a couple USGI 20 rounders and they too have been flawless.

Congrats on a great rifle.

No, but I bought another stripped AR-10 lower yesterday. This one'll probably be built into a 16" lightweight carbine with an Aimpoint on top.

:neener:

Thanks guys! It's killing me waiting to shoot it . . . .I'm wondering if the wife would notice if I just put a few rounds out the kitchen window. :)

I plan on buying that exact rifle in the next few months.

There will be some 20 round mags waiting for mommy when she gets home.

Did that sound weird?:uhoh:

Bought mine about a month ago. Like you I have wanted one for many years.

Ok, here's my new baby, a couple of cosmoline covered USGI mags and her first few meals. (SA surplus bought when it was cheap . . .told you I wanted one for a LOOOOONNG time! :) )

Now all I have to do is work up some good handloads that are specific for the M1A. Anyone know if Hornady TAP is safe to shoot in an M1A?

All Springfield Armory M1As come with 10rd magazines. I've yet to see any of them ever ship with anything else.

M80 l47 grain ball equivalent: 43.0 gr. 4895. l68 grain Sierra Match King, 41.0 gr. 4895.

That's what my rifle has devoured for about 2K rounds.

They ARE nice, aren't they?

Have fun.

I have not purchased an M1A in several years, but I have purchased a few M14s :D

I picked up a LNIB heel stamped Poly Tech just last month.

Nice traditional rifle. I may have to get one of those. I tend to tart up my M1A, but yours is a beautiful example.

Like H2Oman, I haven't bought a new one this year, but I have had a few.

Contact member Eat Beef. He has quite a few REAL mags for the M-14. I have seen them all, and they are VERY nice.
Steve.

hah! I just got an M1A Standard in walnut furnishings as well...I live in CA so I ended up with a few 10 rounders and I've been trying a couple 5/20 mags I picked up from Marstar as well...for whatever reason I shoot better with the 20 rounders :|

Thanks for the handload advice guys. I was looking for a good 168gr. load that would be acceptable to the gas system.

I REALLY need to get out and shoot this thing . . . .damn job gets in the way all the time. :)

Have a good one,
Dave

Congrats. My local shop is offering 25% back on all purchases today thru monday. I might just have to order that M1A Scout Rifle I've wanted to go along with my M1A Loaded.

Congrats!

I just bought mine a month or so ago. I'm going to swap the Cali MB for a standard FS in the very near future. I only ended up with it because the cali models were easier to get. Now to sell the silly MB.

Oh and yes, it has a ten round magazine from the factory
