I find myself wondering if minimizing my collection a bit more would help facilitate having fewer guns, but guns I enjoy shooting more.
I emphasize yes. This also comes into play as you age and cross over the age 50 range.
Maybe the solution isn't fewer guns, it's a better job.
Nah, the greener grass theory plays a part. Less hours may mean less happiness or less fulfillment. Usually more pay means more headaches and
more stress. The grass may look greener over there but it may be painted green to hide the warts.
Per the thread, I've had and loved my PCR for 10 years now. It was all I wanted in a carry piece plus it is a CZ! It replaced my Kahr PM9 which I also
loved. After the PM9 sat unused for a few years, I decided to sell it. I miss it occasionally but only because I loved it for so long but I liked my 14+1
CZ a lot more than the PM9s 6+1 (I never warmed to the ugly extended mag). If I got nostalgic for the PM9 I'd look up some prices for
some used ones and realized that I didn't miss it that much. Knowing I could replace it tomorrow, if I wanted to, eased any regrets.
I was intrigued with the Sig P365 when it came out. I waited for the growing pains to get worked out and finally bought one this year. I haven't shot it enough to
say it's my new carry piece (over the PCR) but I really like it. It shoots well and has the 12+1 in a smaller package than the PCR. It would have
to overwhelm me over time to retire the PCR but if it does become my go to gun, I'd have to decide if I want to sell my PCR (I highly doubt
it) or let it sit by doing nothing more than looking pretty.
Now, to screw up things even more, the new Hellcat has piqued my interest to a point of me buying one in a year or so after the beta
testing has sorted things out. It could/may relegate the Sig to the depths of darkness. Would I sell the Sig? Yes, if the Hellcat is as good or better.
In my mind, they are so similar that I would not need 2 pistols with similar everything. I like the red dot capability of the Hellcat. So, if I
prefer the Hellcat over the P365, the P365 would go. I could always replace it if desired. The PCR is a metal (alloy) gun with a hammer
and good capacity and is hard to replace. I believe I'll always keep it since it is a great gun.
So, the answer is, it depends. It depends if you have any type of attachment to it and if it can be easily replaced if you get seller's remorse.
