I was actually kind of relieved to find out that the one that had been sitting at one of my local WMs for quite some time was not there when I stopped in today.
Heads up. Walmart putting their Mini14s on clearance

Bought 3 clearance guns at Walmart today today. Ruger Mini-14 $349. Weatherby Vanguard Deluxe Sporter 30-06 $349.

EDIT: No, it doesn't. At least, not to search. I just did. Found a $599 one 33 miles form me, but the $399 ones about the same distance in another direction are sold out.

Out of curiosity I walked through sporting goods in an area Super Walmart last week and they had no firearms whatsoever. Ammunition, accessories, no firearms. This in rural North Florida. Frankly it wouldn't hurt my feelings if every Wal Mart stopped selling guns.

Brickseek is my new favorite website. I picked up a $124 10/22 and a cooler that was normally $179 for $35 because I found them listed on Brickseek.
Both the guns and the coolers were being clearanced, but neither had been marked down with a sticker. The price only showed up when they scanned.

Ozark Trail 73 quart high performance. Depending on the store, a lot of their coolers are at really crazy clearance prices now.

Thanks- there was one of the coolers locally and I grabbed it this morning... I grabbed 2 savage axis in .223- a synthetic for 139 and a hardwood stock with a bushnell 3x9 and a drop type rectical for 169.00 I figured the stock upgrade was worth the 30.00 and how do you leave a .223 rifle with a great reputation on the table for the 140? Even if I use it for the action for a later build or an ultimate cheap truck gun?

None of the walmarts near me had any of their guns on clearance when I checked, y'all are some lucky folks.

Keep checking. There’s no rhyme or reason to it.
They my NOT show as clearance in the racks. If they show up as clearance on brickseek at your store ask them to scan it. My 10/22 was $249 in the rack, scanned $124.

The closeout on the Mini 14's started Aug 17 or 18. I'm sure the stores that stocked the Mini 14's sold out real fast...like in days. If they didn't have any at your store when the sale started you're not gonna see one now...I'm pretty sure they are no longer stocking the gun.

You're right...I guess I should have clarified the $399 price went into effect Aug 17 or 18 that started the run on them after the earlier sale price of $599 didn't clear them out fast enough.
