While cleaning my Italian made Beretta 92 F (not FS), the "trigger bar spring" (part # 28) fell out.

While the Exploded Drawing in the manual shows where it goes (next to the "trigger bar" :) part # 27 ), I have no idea exactly how it goes back in.

The only thin I did different from my normal disassembly procedure was to remove the "disassembling latch" (part # 21) and "disassembling latch release button" (part # 29). But I've done that before (to mount a light), and it shouldn't have any affect on the trigger bar spring.

Any help on how to get this back together would be appreciated.

Do a search, I did the same thing some time last year, but maybe it was on The Firing Line? I can post pics for you when I get home tonight but not until after 9pm if no one responds.

You put the little spring for the thingy that goes in the back of the backstrap to catch onto the sear backwards. Sorry I don't know what it's called

It's cute and little.

Having solved that problem, now the trigger doesn't reset. I can manually push it forward, and it will cock-and-drop the hammer again.
You lost another spring.

When you pushed out the trigger pin, you must have missed the tiny sound of the trigger return spring hitting the opposite wall.

If you field strip your gun and look down into the frame where the trigger comes up through it, there should be a small spring wrapped around the trigger pin. That's what normally resets the trigger for you.

Yep. I managed to figure it out.

It was intuitively obvious, but hard to actually see without better lighting than I have.

Thanks to everybody for their help. It saved me a lot of trouble.
